The spelling error detection feature does not function as expected.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Launch the application.
2. Navigate to the options menu.
3. Uncheck the "word suggestions" option.
4. Make sure that the "spelling error" option is checked.
5. Intentionally type words with spelling mistakes.

Expexted results:
When the user types words with spelling mistakes there should be red underlining under the words with spelling mistakes or pop-up warning.

Actual results:
No warning or red underlining occurs when typing words with spelling mistakes, even though the "spelling error" option is checked.
